john,
It's been over two months since the Supreme Court ripped away reproductive rights by overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade case. Since then, we've seen just how devastating this decision has been.
Immediately following the ruling, women in more than half the states in the country have lost the freedom to make the most profoundly impactful healthcare decision of their lives – when and whether to have a child. And Republicans in other states are working to pass restrictive legislation, meaning access to abortion is at risk for even more women. But Republicans in Congress want to go even further, proposing a national abortion ban.
Here in Washington's 8th District, I'm running against anti-choice extremist Matt Larkin. Larkin wants to ban abortion even in cases of rape and incest, and even said, “I could see a strong conservative Congress putting forward that vote to ban it nationally.”
We can't let anti-choice extremists ban abortion nationally. Chip in $5 or more before my end-of-month fundraising deadline to help me defeat anti-choice extremist Matt Larkin.

While Larkin celebrated the end of Roe v. Wade, I've been working to defend access to abortion care for every woman, regardless of where she lives. Last year, I was proud to help pass the Women's Health Protection Act to make Roe the law of the land.
Then, in the wake of the Dobbs decision, my House colleagues and I quickly passed a bill to ensure that women can travel across state lines to obtain abortion care. And, in response to a signal from Justice Thomas that contraception access may be at risk, we passed a bill to guarantee access to contraception and contraceptives in every state.
And yes, I know, it seems absurd that we would need to pass such laws, but this is our current reality. We cannot put women at risk.
As a doctor and as your congresswoman, I will always fight for access to reproductive health care. But election experts are calling this race a "toss up" and if my opponent flips this seat red, he'll work to ban abortion nationally. I need your help to ensure that doesn't happen.
The future of reproductive rights is on the line this November. Will you chip in to help me defeat my extreme opponent so I can continue fighting to protect abortion access?
Thank you,
Kim
To hold the House majority, we must re-elect Rep. Kim Schrier in WA-08. Will you chip in to protect Kim's seat and the Democratic House majority in 2022?
