According to a recent NBC News poll, "threats to democracy" is now the top issue in the country for voters come November. Check it out:
The GOP and Donald Trump came dangerously close to overturning the will of the people when it was time to certify the results of the 2020 election. 147 Republican members of Congress embraced Trump’s Big Lie and voted to overturn the results of the election. And their dangerous lies have not stopped – to this day.
For years, I have worked to hold Donald Trump and the GOP accountable for their attacks on our democracy and to tell the American people the truth. That work continues, but in order to protect the right to vote, improve oversight, prevent abuses of power, and combat dangerous misinformation, we cannot allow Republicans to retake control of Congress. We just can’t.
The American people understand the grave crisis this country faces. The vast majority know that we need to hold Trump and his cronies accountable for their attacks on our democracy in order to preserve and protect our freedoms.
