I’ve stood by Michael as he’s campaigned, so I’m deeply familiar with just how rough and challenging these final months of the race can be. And midterm election years when your party has the White House are notoriously tough. Michael won his last midterm re-election by just 1.7%. That’s fewer than 30,000 votes out of almost 2 million cast! So when Mitch McConnell described his opponent as his “perfect candidate” and bought a quarter of a million dollars of ads in our state, I knew this race would only get tougher.
When you’re running a people-powered campaign like Michael’s, you have to stay on top of your fundraising from month-to-month. But Michael’s team told me they’ve hit a summer slump, just as his self-funding opponent’s campaign picked up steam with support from the National GOP.
And it’s no secret corporate special interests are angry that Michael has challenged their status quo.
With our fundraising deadline coming up on Wednesday, and Mitch McConnell going “all-in in Colorado,” we’re counting on you. Please pitch in $10 to re-elect Michael so he can continue fighting for Coloradans in the Senate.
The National GOP has raised over $330 million to flip seats like Michael’s and put Mitch McConnell in charge. They’re doing everything they can to oust Senators like Michael who stood firm against Mitch’s obstruction to help working families over corporate special interests.
Since people like you helped elect him, Michael:
- Capped prescription drug costs for seniors;
- Passed legislation to ensure parents and guardians on WIC could purchase the baby formula they need in the wake of the formula shortage;
- Reformed our tax codes so corporations like Amazon pay their fair share;
- Passed the expanded Child Tax Credit to help struggling families pay for things like childcare, then ramped up his fight to make it permanent;
- Introduced legislation to protect women who cross state lines for abortions and the providers that support them;
- And he secured funding for road and bridge repairs that will create good-paying jobs here in Colorado.
Folks like Mitch McConnell and Rick Scott — chair of the GOP Senate campaign arm — are emboldened by a poll that put Michael down 1% to a GOP opponent and back-to-back rankings that show his seat in the top 10 most likely to flip this November.
They’re bankrolling attack ads nationwide and already have operatives on the ground in Colorado to distort Michael’s record and flip our state.
I’ve stood by Michael in tough races before. I know he can hold this seat with people like you powering his campaign.
Donate $10 before Wednesday’s end-of-month fundraising deadline to defend Michael’s seat and keep Colorado blue.
