John,
One hundred and two years ago today, the 19th Amendment was officially added to the Constitution of the United States.
For 144 years before that, our nation — built on a foundation of government by and for the people — denied women the right to vote. For more than half our history, half our population was excluded from the political process.
Even now, American women are still fighting for equality. Equal work for equal pay, better child care, and more. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, women aren’t even guaranteed control of their own bodies.
Today is Women’s Equality Day, and on it, I’m asking you to add your name to my petition calling on Democrats in Washington to prioritize codifying abortion rights at the federal level. Add your name here >>>
Thank you,
Roy
