Just Announced - Archery at Wollaton Park

Nottingham has a long association with archery, from the legend of Robin Hood right up to hosting the European Championships in 2016, and?is set to host two major archery competitions this autumn.?
The two competitions will take place at Wollaton Park from 15 to 17 September, and it?s a great opportunity to come and watch top world-class UK and European, Paralympian and Olympic archers. You can either buy a grandstand ticket for the best view in the house or come and watch for free.?Archery GB will be bringing their have-a-go range for visitors to try their hand at the sport.
The European Para Archery Cup finals will take place on Thursday 15 September and will see the best para archers from across Europe compete.
The 2022 National Tour Finals will take place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September and will see the UK's best recurve, compound and barebow archers shoot for the top spot on the podium.

The Nottingham Mela is the annual festival celebrating South Asian Arts is taking place at New Art Exchange (NAE) in Hyson Green. The vibrant, family friendly Mela programme features live music, dance, storytelling, comedy poetry, yoga, art workshops, a henna zone, and a desi menu created by the NAE Caf?Bar. The programme includes a mix of drop-in and pre-book, free events for all ages and interests.
Mela starts on Thursday 1 September with a double bill film screening of "Chai Experience" and "The Namesake". "Chai Experience" captures the experiences of Nottingham?s South Asian citizens as they?ve arrived from India and settled in Nottingham. "The Namesake" is the story of an Bengali couple who migrate from India to New York.
The official Mela Launch takes place on the evening of Friday 2 September with live Bollywood and Bhangra music by "Kaykay." The launch is followed by "Nott Another Mela!," a night of local South Asian talent including comedians, poets, singers and rappers.
Saturday?s Mela is a family friendly ?Roti Festival? day with "Roti Moon" Theatre Performances, Saturday Mela Art Club, a Family Bhangra Rave and live music events.
Sunday?s Mela programme is based on relaxation and wellbeing, with workshops, delicious food, yoga, poetry and live music.

With the Bank Holiday approaching why not have a day out at the Nottingham Beach.
The Beach has two giant inflatable waterslides: the Arrow which is the largest inflatable urban waterslide in the UK at 13m high and 55m long. This two-lane waterslide enables you to race against your friends. The smaller Little John slide ta 22m long and 7.5m high is great for kids.?
Nottingham Residents can book at a discounted rate of ?10 if booking online in advance and quoting their Nottingham City Council council tax number.

The free to access beach has also been extended for 2022 with over 390m2 of sand, and to help beach goers cool down a 105m2 accompanying wading pool.
Alongside a mix of children?s rides and sideshow games and attractions there?s also be a wide range of food and drink choices catering for all ages. From slushies and ice cream through to the Nottingham institution Filthy Vegan.?

This Bank Holiday weekend?will see a vibrant and diverse spread of music, art, food, and family entertainment filling the streets and venues of Newark.
The festival kicks off today with a family focused day of free events including a?main stage in the Market Place, fairground games, circus skills, street performers, interactive workshops and Samba parades.?
Saturday sees a free entry multi genre music festival over ten stages in venues across the town plus street art, food, and entertainment galore.?
On Sunday?evening book a ticket and enjoy an intimate concert featuring the fabulous vocal harmony group The Overtones in the spectacular setting of Newark Castle grounds..
Monday, also in The Castle Grounds sees more family entertainment alongside?the annual Brass Explosion concert. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks finale.

The Arboretum Beer Festival returns with great real ales, and craft beer alongside amazing entertainment, local street food, fun and games, this weekend.
