Hi there --
If you didn't catch the good news last week, allow me to be the one to share: the $100,000+ in ads we ran in Texas ahead of the state filing deadline absolutely paid off.
At least 26 of the 80+ non-incumbent Democrats running for state house in Texas are in the Run for Something pipeline. At least 17 of them are challenging Republican incumbents or running in open seats, and three of them are running in districts that Democrats left uncontested in 2018. More than half of these folks are women. And it's worth noting that at least a half dozen of these folks signed up with us nearly 3 years ago, reinforcing something we say often: Candidate recruitment can take a long time, and requires permanent investment. Had we folded up shop during "off-years" like, say, 2019, we wouldn't have been able to see many of these folks to the starting line.
Your support is what sustains our program -- and today, I'm asking you to chip in. Whether you can give $5 or $150, every dollar counts, and every candidate who counts on us will be so grateful for your support. (We will, too. Duh).

Hi there --
As of the filing deadline this week, Democrats are contesting more state legislative races in Texas in 2020 than Republicans, 137-129. While it's not every district, I'm so proud of the work we did with our partners on the ground to recruit great candidates (and excited to do the same for municipal races!).
Why do we run progressive candidates in districts where Republicans have a stranglehold? Well, first of all, because doing so can increase turnout and vote totals up and down the ballot. But just as importantly, everyone deserves to have the chance to vote for someone who represents their values. If it feels like your party has given up on your community, it's easy to stop voting -- or caring -- altogether, and we believe that's the worst possible outcome.
There are more filing deadlines coming up before the end of the year. Help cover the costs of recruiting and supporting young progressive candidates who are ready to lead by chipping in $10 or more today.
