Jack, a Georgia judge has upheld the unjust and unjustified law criminalizing handing out food and water to people waiting in long lines at their polling sites.
This law intends to discourage people from voting. One way to make sure they fail would be ensuring that polling places run so smoothly that lines move voters through very quickly. Unfortunately, Georgia and most states across the nation are facing a shortage of poll workers this election cycle, and the potential for depressing the vote is looming.

Inspired by the testimony of the two Georgia women who were so relentlessly harassed by proponents of the Big Lie that they will no longer be poll workers, I signed up to be a poll worker in my county.
I've never served in this capacity, but I'm honored to relieve those who have faithfully served our democracy for years and can no longer do so, whatever their reasons.

Trump and his extremist loyalists launched a racist smear campaign against two frequent Georgia poll workers as a part of the Big Lie about the 2020 election. The relentless harassment campaign has been unfortunately impactful—not only for these two women, but on people's overall willingness to serve as election workers.
Right now, every major county in Georgia is scrambling to find poll workers with early voting starting in just 2 months. Across the nation more than 130,000 workers–many of whom have helped their neighbors vote for years–have said they are unlikely to work again this year. Meanwhile, election-denying conspiracy theorists are recruiting and training poll workers and directing them to battleground states.
We urgently need poll workers with integrity to help people cast ballots, keep lines moving, and beat back this attack on our democracy. We cannot give into extremist intimidation. We must provide voters with the tools, location, and staffing needed to make their voice heard in this crucial election.
Sign up to be a poll worker and help fill in this crucial gap. Power the Polls will connect you with the appropriate agency, and since many poll workers are paid, you may even receive a stipend for your work.
