DID YOU KNOW? Millions of Green Jobs Are Coming!

Labor Day, which is coming up on Monday, September 5, celebrates the laborers who have built this county and the many achievements of the labor movement, including making our workplaces more equitable and winning us paid time off and sick time. This Labor Day, EnviroVoters is looking ahead at the new green jobs we have secured:

  • The Inflation Reduction Act will support and create millions of new jobs in our clean energy economy, including funding for energy efficiency job training and tax incentives for clean energy manufacturing to be directed in part to those transitioning from fossil-fuel to renewable energy jobs.
  • Under the new state budget, researchers estimate that if California builds 10 GW of offshore wind by 2040, the state can create 97,000 to 195,000 job-years, plus 4,000 to 4,500 annual operation and maintenance jobs.
