John,
When I first ran for mayor, it was to stop politicians in my community who were on the take at the expense of the people they were elected to serve. I ran to make sure my community didn’t fall to corrupt practices and political opportunists, and to ensure that it remained a place where you could build a business and a life.
History has a way of repeating itself. Now I am running to push back on the self-dealing politicians in Congress, who drove up the cost of gas and groceries, and made our communities less safe.
This week, the Washington Free Beacon reported ([link removed]) that Sean Casten’s latest financial disclosure shows he holds up to $500,000 in a green energy company that will likely benefit from Green Energy spending.
This is a disturbing pattern with Sean Casten. In 2008, he secured $8 million in taxpayer-funded subsidies for his family’s company from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. As a Congressman, he has pushed for similar special deals to benefit his own company, and special interests.
Rather than reforming the system, Sean Casten works the system. His cheerleading of the “Don’t Say Inflation” Act is insulting. Casten is a lobbyist-turned-congressman who has taken millions of dollars in federal subsidies for years - subsidies for which the hard-working taxpayers in DuPage and Cook County have to foot the bill. He ran for Congress to ensure that he could continue to secure those subsidies. Something that he has done once again. Sean Casten has done little to make life better for anyone in the Sixth District but continues to enrich himself.
As Mayor of Orland Park, I’ve worked to make government live within its means so we could reduce the burden the village was passing on to the people we serve. In positions of trust, I’ve always stood up for the people I served—as an officer of the United States Air Force, as a business owner, and as mayor of Orland Park. I will continue that record of service in Washington DC.
Thank you,
Keith Pekau

Honoring Our Police Officers
From Keith: At last week's village board meeting, we honored Orland Park officers and celebrated some promotions. I'm proud of the work that Orland Park PD does to keep our community safe. Unfortunately, Sean Casten and Kim Foxx make their job harder. As your congressman, I'll push back against those who try to demonize and defund law enforcement. I’ll ensure that they have the resources they need to keep our communities safe.

South Cook News: Casten Ensured Tax Breaks on Luxury Cars for the Wealthy
While the Democrats’ “Don’t Say Inflation” Act does little to reduce inflation, it was a major boon for the Green Energy lobby. The bill is laden with federal subsidies and tax carve-outs for the powerful special interests’ preferred constituencies.
For example, now only electric vehicles assembled in North America qualify for the $7500 electric vehicle tax credit. According to a preliminary list released by the US government, the majority of vehicles that will qualify are high-end models: Audi, BMW, GMC Hummer, Lincoln, Tesla, Cadillac, Mercedes and Ford Mustang…
Keith Pekau, GOP Nominee for Congress (IL-06) released the following statement: “The EV tax credits are yet another example of how the “Don’t Say Inflation” Act puts special interests and the wealthy ahead of working people. If you can afford an Audi or a Mercedes, you can get a tax break. If you are a single, working mom who can only scratch together enough for a used Toyota: too bad. Sean Casten, who drives a Tesla, was gleeful about passing this bill to benefit himself, his wealthy buddies and the Green Lobby. He didn’t give any consideration to those who are struggling under the Biden-Casten economy…”

The Reports Are In: Inflations Causes Pain in a Variety of Ways
Americans have historically been a resilient and optimistic group, but they are hurting right now as a result of the Biden-Casten agenda. Beyond the burden of skyrocketing gas and energy costs, here are some of the other ways people are being hit.
NPR ([link removed]) : These are some of the ways inflation is changing Americans' spending habits
Tom Charley's family has been selling groceries in the Pittsburgh area for four generations, through lots of economic ups and downs. Even his father, who ran stores during the high inflation of the 1970s and '80s ([link removed]) has never seen a period quite like this.
"It's a challenge, for sure. There's no doubt about it," Tom Charley says.
CBS ([link removed]) : Tailgating Costs this Football Season Higher than Ever Before Due to Inflation, Economists Say
Economists said rising prices mean tailgating costs will be higher than ever before.
Chicken, like wings, is 17% more expensive than last year. Beef is up 10% and condiments like ketchup, relish, and mustard, all saw double-digit increases this year.
Economists recommend considering investing in a better TV instead of spending the money on a single game.
Business Insider ([link removed]) : I Compared My Grocery Bills from the Last Year and Found Inflation Means My Costs Have Ballooned by Over 18% a Month
I decided to start looking at my grocery shops from back in April 2021, since that's when we first saw inflation rates really shoot up. That month the inflation rate was 4.2%, nearly double the 2.6% rate in March 2021. Since then, the rate of inflation has grown exponentially month after month and capped out at 9.1% in June 2022. July 2022 saw interest rates drop a bit, but at 8.5%, inflation is still shockingly high.

Get Involved
Politicians in Washington, DC like Sean Casten, and Nancy Pelosi have put special interests, party politics, and extreme agendas ahead of doing what’s best for the people they’re supposed to represent.
Keith Pekau is the common sense, local leader we need in Washington to take on the extreme politicians. His record of results stands in stark contrast to the failed, divisive politics and rigid ideology of Sean Casten.
Whether you choose to contribute, knock on doors, or host a yard sign on your front lawn, every little bit counts and helps my campaign inch closer to victory.
