Friend,
You got us this far—but we can’t give up now.
Since he took office, we’ve been calling upon Joe Biden to keep his promises, and he’s starting to move. Yesterday the President announced he’s forgiving $10,000 in student loans, and $20,000 in Pell Grants.
We’re getting so close, and it’s all thanks to people like you. Help us continue to cover the protesters who are winning this fight for all of us.
The exploitation of Americans through predatory student loans isn’t just a war on young people: it’s a war on all of us. It’s a war on the seniors who are going into poverty to finance their kids’ education. It’s a war on the American public sphere, which needs every intellect possible to be cultivated.
Every other wealthy democracy provides higher education for young people. In fact, in a fluidly changing global economy higher education is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.
An American democracy will only ever be as strong as the American mind. Help us protect both, forever.
