Yesterday, my bill to crack down on robocall scammers -- the Locking Up Robocallers Act of 2019 -- passed in the House with bipartisan support.

Last year, scammers sent an estimated 47 BILLION robocalls preying on some of our most vulnerable citizens. These are nothing more than thinly-veiled attempts to steal the personal and financial information of victims.

As an original cosponsor of the legislation, I’m incredibly proud that we were able to round up support from Democrats and Republicans on this critical issue.

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about what’s next.

Too many bills we’ve passed in the House have been shot down by the Mitch McConnell-controlled Senate and buried in a legislative graveyard.

This issue is as bi-partisan as they come. Please, sign my petition urging the Senate to pass this much-needed bill to crack down on illegal robocalls and hold predators accountable for their scams. >>

Scam robocalls are illegal, but still a huge problem. It’s long past time we give law enforcement the resources to hold violators accountable.
