Good morning John, I don’t mean to start your week off with bad news, but sadly, I must. Last week, Alejandra St. Guillen announced that she lost her recount for Boston City Council by one vote. This was a heartbreaking loss. Alejandra would have been the first openly LGBTQ Latinx person elected to the Boston City Council. To come so close to victory only to see it leave your grasp is devastating. I know what it feels like to lose. After losing the first time, I wondered if I should run again – if it was worth the effort. But I did, and I fervently hope that Alejandra does as well. One vote can make the difference for a candidate – and one dollar can help them win. That’s one of the reasons why joining the Victory Caucus with a gift of $35 or more is so important. Your financial support ensures that Victory Fund can provide top-notch candidate services, get out the vote support, and increase our candidates’ visibility. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: Each candidate who runs, win or lose, chips away at the rainbow ceiling. And with your help, we can shatter that ceiling once and for all. Thanks again for your support – Mayor Annise Parker Victory Fund President & CEO |
