Congress is nearing its deadline for reauthorizing critical funding for home visiting programs across the country, and we need your help to ensure there is no hold up. Home visitors, like Victoria Barajas,
work with parents to build strong relationships with their newborn and provide critical support during a child’s first five years of life.
If Maternal, Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) funding is not reauthorized by September 30, access to imperative services is not guaranteed – leaving 140,000 parents and children in 1,054 counties across the country without vital home visiting support. | After nearly a decade of funding levels of the same amount, Start Early recommends that Congress reauthorize funding for five years, including a $200 million annual increase. Your voice is needed, here's how you can stand up for families nationwide: As a champion for early learning and care for 40 years, we know that starting at home and supporting families from pregnancy or birth into the preschool years is vital. When parents and caregivers are well supported, young children thrive. |
