John – Election day is exactly 75 days away, and we have a major opportunity to grow progressive power in Congress. We have six elected representatives on the ballot for re-election in November, and five history-making candidates ready to join them in Washington.
Angélica Dueñas and Michelle Vallejo will each be the first Latina to represent their districts with majority immigrant communities. Odessa Kelly will be the first openly gay Black woman elected to Congress, and Becca Balint will be the first openly gay woman elected to Congress from Vermont.
Meanwhile Charles Booker is set to become the first Black man elected to federal office from Kentucky and would be one of only FOUR Black men in the U.S. Senate next year. But to get there, we need the resources to properly support our candidates and help them win.
Yesterday we reached out to share a big fundraising gap, and a LOT of you stepped up. Thanks to everyone who pitched in, we’re now down to a $7,924 gap to our August fundraising goal.
If you didn’t get a chance to make a contribution yesterday, we could really use your help today in closing this gap. Here’s a link to give: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bncforward2022
Another way to help out is by signing up to volunteer with Brand New Congress. Over the next 75 days, our candidates are going to need help with phonebanking, texting, canvassing, research, social media boosting, and so much more. Sign up below to get started with BNC and we’ll get you plugged into the campaign that needs your help the most!
