Dear friends,

When the 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti in August 2021, Partners In Health walked side-by-side with victims and patients by accompanying them every step of the way, for as long as it took. This was possible thanks to the investments made after the 2010 earthquake to ensure the health system would be better prepared for any future natural disaster.

It’s not just about responding to the urgent need for medical care during an emergency, it’s also about improving systems and building the capacity to provide care in the long-term.

Support PIH’s unshakable, long-term commitment to the Haitian health system and the people it serves with a monthly gift >> [[link removed]]

Here's how your donation of any amount can support a new era of health care in Haiti:

1. Fund public health infrastructure that can withstand any future disaster. Your donation can help cover costs related to construction of a new emergency ward as well as improvements to water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure to prevent water-borne illnesses that often come in the wake of natural disasters.

2. Invest in the specialized training of orthopedic and emergency care residents. Zanmi Lasante (ZL), PIH’s sister organization in Haiti, has 6,697 committed staff members, 99% of whom are Haitian. You can cover the cost of their education and ensure ZL has the emergency trauma staffing needed in case of future disasters.

3. Support mobile clinics that help Haitians rebuild their lives and seek health care after a disaster. ZL staff and partners attended to more than 7,000 people in one month following the earthquake. Your gift can help staff meet patients where they are and provide basic services to those who lack access to regular care.

We have a moral obligation to support marginalized communities, not just immediately after an emergency, but in the long-term, too. Your generosity will make that support possible.

In gratitude,

Partners In Health
