Aloha Hawai'i Republican Party Members,
We did it! We got through the primary election, and the candidates heading into the general are quite impressive. The Hawai'i Republican Party (HRP) recruited the most significant number of candidates we have seen in a long time. We had 102 Republicans fighting for a much-needed two-party system in our State. All sacrificed and invested much of their precious time and money with the belief in positively changing Hawai'i.
Now, the Hawai’i Republican Party supports the 69 campaigns that will continue to the General Election, including 22 State Senate and 42 State House candidates. In our review of present districts’ Republican voting data compared to past voting data in the same districts, we have House and Senate races that show strong positioning to win over the Democrat opponent.
You might ask, but Lynn, did you see the Primary Election results? Yes! Democrats and their candidates garnered many more votes, sometimes double or triple the amount that the Republican received. But, historically, Republicans who have won, almost always show primary election numbers that trail the Democrat opponent by a wide margin. We analyzed the vote data, and we are hopeful. Firstly, voter turnout is widely different in a gubernatorial year versus a presidential year. Secondly, only 39% of registered voters voted, leaving us a vast window of opportunity. And, the Republican turnout percentage was the highest it has been in 20 years and continues to show an upward trend.
Our success in recruitment presents another challenge. Until now, we have provided numerous resources in training, consulting, and technology tools for our candidates, but they need more. They need funding. Help us to get our candidates over the finish line on November 8th!
For the first time, the HRP is hosting a fundraising event for specific qualified candidates who meet a set standard. I humbly ask for your support by becoming a $1,500, $3,000, or $5,000 sponsor of this event or purchasing individual tickets at $150 per person. Click here to buy a ticket(s) or for more information.
Should you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected]. Again, I thank you for your generosity and support.
Mahalo,
