** The Anchorage Family Emergency Shelter Plan
------------------------------------------------------------

For over a decade, many community partners have committed to ensuring that no family experiences unsheltered homelessness in the Municipality of Anchorage. Christian Health Associates, the Anchorage School District, churches and volunteers from their congregations, AWAIC, RuralCap, Catholic Social Services, United Way, Salvation Army, the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness (ACEH), and the Anchorage Health Department (AHD) have spent many hours collaborating on the best way to safely house families in the winter months when there is increased community need.
Beginning in August of 2021, these partners and others initiated bi-weekly meetings to determine multiple opportunities to resolve a community problem. As a result of these enormous efforts, two options have been identified that engage churches, Christian Health Associates, RuralCap, and AWAIC to provide emergency shelter and wrap-around services to move families into housing quickly. ** Day 1 Families Fund

Reminder: Proposal submission deadline is tomorrow, August 25th, at 5:00 pm.

The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations that are pursuing solutions to family homelessness in the Municipality of Anchorage, with a strong focus on helping families gain or remain stably housed by providing short-term subsidized rental assistance, and by assisting them with connecting to and navigating an array of supportive services to support them in achieving permanent housing. The project timeline is September 2022 through September 30, 2024.

Grant proposals must be submitted electronically to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022. Proposals are limited to eight, 8.5 x 11-inch pages, not including the budget and budget narrative.

This free training offers tools and hands-on practice for advocating on issues you care about.

Participants learn how to talk to policymakers and speak at public meetings on topics and decisions that impact people with mental illness, substance use disorders, intellectual/developmental disabilities, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, and traumatic brain injuries.

The training is for people with lived experience of a disability, family members, service providers, administrators, peers, and others interested in learning:

HUD Announces $52 Million in Reallocated ESG-CV Funding

HUD announced estimated reallocation amounts for 62 Emergency Solutions Grants Program CARES Act (ESG-CV) recipients totaling $52 million. Review Appendix 1 of Notice CPD-22-06 for information about the reallocation formula, recipient eligibility criteria, as well as minimum and maximum reallocation amounts.
