John: If you've been following Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight, you know I'm in a tough fight for reelection next year - and the Senate might just come down to my race in Alabama. Mitch McConnell knows it, which is why he and his allies are already targeting me with ads. They know just how high the stakes are.

Winning in Alabama could make the difference between taking back the Senate for Democrats and protecting everything from our health care to women's rights - or giving ultraconservatives a blank slate to pass their corrupt agenda. No matter where we are in America - Nevada, Alabama or anywhere else - we all want the same things. Good jobs and secure retirements. Health care we can afford and doctors we trust. The list goes on.
