For years, the cost of a college education has skyrocketed, leaving tens of millions of students drowning in debt. Now, after fighting a huge uphill battle, DFA members have finally pushed President Biden to take some action. 

Unfortunately, President Biden still refuses to have a real sense of urgency on this issue, choosing to only do means-tested relief that will still leave millions of Americans deep in debt that just grows bigger by the day.

By canceling $10,000 in student debt, Biden has proved that he has the power to cancel all student debt, now it's up to you and DFA members around the nation to make it happen.

It's no secret that for decades, the financial burden of college tuition along with other expenses like housing and books has increased dramatically at public four-year colleges. As a result, national student loan debt levels have surged, leaving students buried in debt, especially people from lower-income communities.

This unnecessary debt ultimately hurts their chances of getting ahead, buying a home, or saving for retirement. That’s just wrong -- a college education is supposed to help, not hurt, a person’s chances at getting ahead in life.

Even canceling $50,000 in student debt per borrower would give 36 million Americans permanent relief, helping to significantly close the racial wealth gap and boosting the real economy in the process.
