This afternoon, President Biden announced his administration will be canceling up to $20,000 of federal student loan debt per person.
Here are the details:
→ Pell Grant recipients will be eligible for up to $20,000 in debt cancellation for those earning less than $125,000
→ Non-Pell Grant recipients will be eligible for up to $10,000 in debt cancellation for those earning less than $125,000
→ The pause on federal student loan repayment will be extended one final time through December 31, 2022
→ Those with undergraduate loans will be able to cap repayment at 5% of your monthly income
