Together, we're advancing pollution free communities across the country? ? ? ? ? Friend ? Most state legislative sessions have wrapped up, so I want to take a minute and update you on some of the historic clean energy progress we've made this past year.

Thanks to the hard work of our 30 state partners in the Conservation Voter Movement and LCV members like you who keep up the fight for clean energy, there have been massive wins across the country in the past seven months ? and now 1 in 5 people in the United States live in a place committed to 100% clean energy!

This is what success looks like: Eight governors joined the U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of 24 bipartisan governors committed to the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. They are: Tony Evers (WI), Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM), Janet Mills (ME), J.B. Pritzker (IL), Steve Sisolak (NV), Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Tom Wolf (PA), and Steve Bullock (MT). Eleven states in the Conservation Voter Movement have enacted major Clean Energy For All priorities: Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Nevada, South Carolina, and Washington. Seven states passed major climate change legislation with bipartisan support: Maryland, Maine, New Mexico, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and South Carolina. How did we get here?

Last year, we launched Clean Energy For All, a nationwide, grassroots campaign with the goal of a just transition to 100% clean energy by 2050 ? paving the way for healthier, more sustainable communities and ending our reliance on dirty fossil fuels.

In the 2018 midterm elections, 600 winning local, state, and federal candidates signed our Clean Energy For All pledge, and now along with LCV's 30 state partners in the Conservation Voter Movement, we've made major steps toward reaching our goal of pollution-free communities.

Like many of you, I was deeply despondent the day after the 2016 election ? fearing there may be little hope of much-needed progress on clean energy and climate change. And while we undoubtedly still face many challenges, with the hard work of the Conservation Voter Movement, community activists from around the country, and LCV members like you, we've put Clean Energy For All within closer reach.

We're looking forward to so much more progress to come. Thank you for all you've done and we'll keep you posted on what comes next!

Best,

Sara Jordan
