Last night, Democrat Pat Ryan won a stunning special election victory in a closely-watched, New York House race.

For context, Pat was running in a Republican-leaning district, and every poll leading up to last night’s race strongly favored the GOP candidate. Ryan won by 3 points, and while the results are not yet final, it appears Ryan out-performed President Biden’s numbers in 2020.

The narrative for months has been that Democrats are headed for “a red wave” in November. But as we approach Election Day -- and as voters are reminded of GOP's extremism -- the opposite is happening. This is now the FOURTH special election where the Democrat has out-performed Biden’s 2020 performance.

There’s real, grassroots enthusiasm building behind Democrats. And as GOP turnout lags, we’re showing up at the ballot box.
