Hi there,

Earlier this month, I sent a survey out asking folks what issue matters most to them. And most people made it clear that there’s one topic especially on their minds: voting rights. So, I wanted to take a moment to let you know exactly where I stand.

Elected officials should work to make it easier, not harder, to cast a legal ballot. But too many Republicans believe when more Americans participate in our democracy, their chances of winning are worse.

The right to vote continues to be threatened by unfair voting laws passed across the country by Republican legislators — including right here in Wisconsin where Republicans have weaponized Donald Trump’s Big Lie and his baseless lies of voter fraud to try to further their own political gain.

Congress needs to act to pass modern-day voting rights legislation. Last year, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans used the filibuster to block the landmark For the People Act to protect the right to vote and eliminate partisan gerrymandering, but I’m not giving up on this critical fight.

If you stand with me and believe in the importance of passing voting rights legislation to protect our democracy, add your name alongside mine to call on Congress to pass legislation to protect voting rights, no matter what it takes (including eliminating the filibuster if needed!).

In 2020, we saw how difficult it was for so many people to safely cast their ballots, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, more laws have passed to make it harder to vote.

We need to give everything we’ve got in the fight to protect voting rights.

Thank you for standing with me – together, we will make a meaningful difference.

– Tammy
