Hi John,
Check out these headlines from just last week:
MSNBC: "Extreme drought in Northeast fueled by climate change."
Yahoo!: "Climate change has doubled the chance of a California megaflood: Study"
NBC: "Rapid climate change, megadrought putting historic stress on Grand Canyon's ecosystem."

There's no denying that climate change is here. The best time to do something about it was 50 years ago. The second best time is
right now.
While we applaud President Biden's signing of the Inflation Reduction Act last week — the largest federal investment in tackling climate change so far— the truth is it's simply not enough.
Young people understand this, that's why we need more of them in elected office. Chip in
$5
or whatever you can afford to help and elect diverse young progressives ready to address climate change as the dire, existential threat that it is.

We know the reasons why getting a federal climate bill took so much work from activists: campaign finance laws that give too much power to corporate interests, the filibuster, and systemic political barriers like the electoral college are putting distance between what voters want and what gets done.
While we can't give up fighting nationally,
we have to keep up the fight at the state and local levels if we want to save our planet.
We need to elect environmental champions to city councils who have the power to implement climate resiliency plans, fund public transportation, and sustainability programs, and make cities carbon-neutral.
We need state legislators to champion green energy production and incentives that reduce industries' carbon footprint.
We need education officials to modernize bus fleets, upgrade classrooms, and divest university endowments from fossil fuels.
And we need environmentalists on every natural resource board in every community across the country who can connect the dots between clean air and water and climate change.
We don't have to wait on Congress to act on climate. Chip in
$5
or more if you can to help and elect more diverse young progressives who will take on the existential threat of climate change.
Let's go,
