Defenders, it's no secret the
biggest dangers facing threatened and endangered species are man-made:

*Polar bears could be poisoned and even crushed by heavy
machinery as Big Oil and their White House cronies threaten to
turn the majestic Arctic National Wildlife Refuge into a
polluted wasteland for short-term profits;

*Red wolves are on the verge of extinction in the wild because
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, sworn to protect vulnerable
wildlife, is instead abandoning them out of apathy;

*And southern resident orcas are starving and dying before our
eyes: They could disappear in our lifetime, as outdated dams
have cut off their food supply and pollution has poisoned the
waters they call home.

The past three years have been a nightmare for wildlife lovers like
you and me. This administration is deeply entrenched with greed-driven
special interests, and it's not doing its job to protect our
nations' wildlife.

Thanks to your support, Defenders of Wildlife has been able to fight
back with the nation's most committed and passionate scientists,
lawyers, policy experts, community organizers and other wildlife
advocates working tirelessly to save the wildlife we all love.
