Hey team,
The Inflation Reduction Act that recently passed Congress and was signed into law by President Biden is a historic piece of legislation with major implications for Americans’ healthcare, for the cost of living, for the climate, and so much more.
The bill will significantly lower prescription drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate prices, capping out-of-pocket costs at $2000, and capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for Medicare recipients. I am proud to have voted for this legislation, and I applaud my Democratic colleagues for getting this crucial bill across the finish line.
However, as much as the Inflation Reduction Act represents a big step forward, we must not stop here. While it provides much needed support to many everyday Americans, it falls short in extending the same help to the Virgin Islands and other territories as it does to the states. Medicaid is still not permanent, and the Virgin Islands still does not get equal Medicaid coverage as the states. These are things I will continue to fight for every day.
Since day one, I’ve been working around the clock to make sure Virgin Islanders are not left behind and get the support from our government that they need. Can you chip in today to support my re-election campaign and help me continue to speak up for the Virgin Islands?

Though the fight for affordable, accessible healthcare and fair treatment of the territories goes on, the Inflation Reduction Act will make major improvements to our healthcare system, strengthen our environmental laws, and help curb inflation and reduce our deficit. It is a shining example of just how much we can accomplish when we work together on behalf of everyday Americans.
