Tom is hosting a webinar for constituents of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District on how best to prepare for flooding and extreme weather events. The webinar will feature a representative from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This is an opportunity for residents to learn about strategies to prepare for and mitigate flooding in their homes and businesses, and resources available from FEMA after flooding occurs. This event comes on the anniversary of Hurricane Ida when many residents of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District experienced extreme flooding in their homes and businesses. Last September, Tom secured $7 billion in disaster relief to help constituents rebuild their livelihoods. Tom also secured over $3 million in the fiscal year 2022 spending bill for towns in the 7thDistrict — that have been historically impacted by flooding — to begin construction on flood mitigation projects.
