John,
We're just one week away from our August end-of-month fundraising deadline. In a moment, I'm going to ask you to chip in to my re-election campaign to help me win this "toss up" race and continue fighting for Northeastern Pennsylvanians in Congress. But first, I wanted to share some of the work I've been doing – and why it's so crucial that we keep this seat blue.
Since first being elected in 2012, I have spent my time in Congress standing up for working Northeastern Pennsylvanians. I've introduced over 60 pieces of legislation and more bipartisan bills than any other House Democrat – including bills to provide COVID-19 relief, improve our infrastructure, lower costs, expand access to health care, and more.
In that time, I've been named one of the most effective Democrats in Congress for my ability to get things done, and I'm not stopping now. People are facing hard times, and we need leaders to put people first, not the special interests or the well-connected. That's why I'm running for re-election, but I have a tough fight ahead of me.
Election experts are calling my race a "toss up" and the latest polling in the race shows I'm neck-and-neck with my extreme Republican opponent. If my opponent flips this seat red and helps Republicans retake the majority, he'll vote to undo all the progress we've made. We can't let that happen.
Will you chip in before my end-of-month fundraising deadline to help ensure I have the resources necessary to keep this seat blue so I can continue fighting for Northeastern Pennsylvanians in Congress?
Thank you,
Matt
