Yesterday, I joined Mayor Pete as he came to town to unveil ANOTHER $12.5 million investment to modernize Port Tampa Bay, unlock supply chains, and lower shipping costs.

Thankfully, security didn't toss me out when I CHEERED when he mentioned the funding of our Big Bend and I-75 interchange. In total...

the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has already brought more than $2,550,000,000 to Florida and another $10,750,000,000 is on the way!

While some want to play culture-wars and partisan politics, I'm putting in the WORK to deliver for YOU.

🚧 Hundreds of millions of dollars in road and infrastructure projects for Brandon, Riverview, and Lithia

  • Resurfaced and widened US-301 and Bloomingdale and the I-75 onramp
  • Started construction on Big Bend Road and I-75
  • Started  construction on MLK and I-75
  • Finished construction on SR-60 and I-75
  • Secured funding for the Boyette and I-75 intersection project
  • Repaved hundreds of miles of local roads
  • Funded Safe-Routes-to-Schools for pedestrian improvements to get kids to school safely
  • New stoplight on Rhodine and Balm Riverview
  • New stop sign at Dorman and paved streets in Fishhawk
  • $17.5 MILLION for Port Tampa Bay to dredge the harbor and build a new cargo terminal

🏫 Improve our kids' schools

  • Passed military-friendly schools legislation to help our transitioning military families
  • Secured over $200m to increase school bus driver, cafeteria worker and janitor (among ALL support staff) pay state-wide
  • $18m for deferred maintenance for Hillsborough Community College's Brandon Campus
  • Fought off attacks to cut our local teacher's pay
  • Passed term-limits on school board members
  • Passed VPK accountability standards, childhood literacy funding, and kept our schools afloat during the pandemic

💸 Bring down costs on families

  • I fought against powerful interests to bring down homeowner insurance costs and rent
  • Passed a gas-tax repealer to save us all $$$ at the pump (it was watered down to just one month in October, but I fought for more)
  • The American Rescue Plan stabilized our economy, saved our small businesses, and has led to the fasted economic recovery in American history.
  • We took on big drug companies and FINALLY allowed Medicare to negotiate for lower prescription drug costs saving the average American family over $1000 per year!
  • We helped 3,450 local small businesses with Paycheck Protection Program loans saving 33,826 local jobs.
  • Untold thousands of our neighbors needed help with unemployment during the pandemic... we got 100% benefits owed, paid.

🚎 A generational investment in HART and other local transit options. Currently, Brandon has just one bus route for all of our 200k residents, this bipartisan infrastructure and jobs bill will help create options, improve parking efficiency downtown, and help us fight against climate change.

⚡ $198m to build out an electric vehicle charging network across Florida will have the added benefit of helping us take a huge leap forward towards combating climate change.

🌐 Resources to connect Florida’s remaining 700k unconnected families with high-speed broadband internet.

  • Progress to date: About 917,000 households in Florida are enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, with more signing up every day. You can check eligibility, sign up, and find fully covered internet plans at GetInternet.gov

🌊 Clean water infrastructure that will replace lead pipes so everyone will have access to safe and clean drinking water at home.

  • To date, approximately $275 million is available in fiscal year 2022 to provide clean and safe water across Florida. Of this funding, $111 million is dedicated to lead pipe and service line replacement, with another $70 million for safe drinking water investments that can also support lead pipe replacement in fiscal year 2022.

🐊 Everglades Investment Overview: The Army Corps of Engineers awarded nearly $1.1 billion to the Everglades for ecosystem restoration activities. This historic funding marks the single largest investment in Everglades history.

While my opponent is playing culture wars, trying to ban abortion and trying to distract you... I'm doing the job you elected me to do. Make Tampa Bay the best place in the world to live, work, and play.
