John,

I want to make sure you have the facts on my opponent, Kari Lake, when it comes to the right to a safe, legal abortion.

Kari Lake has voiced support for Arizona’s Civil War era abortion law — which criminalizes abortion in our state — calling it “great.”

She has said that abortion pills should not be legal.

She has promised that as governor, she would sign extreme anti-abortion legislation into law “in a heartbeat.”
That is where Kari Lake and countless dangerous candidates across the country stand. Now, I want to be very clear about where Gretchen Whitmer and I stand on this issue:

We are unwavering in our support of choice. As Arizona’s next governor, I will use my veto pen to block any legislation that further compromises the right to choose, and Gretchen Whitmer will continue to fight like hell to defend choice. And we will do everything in our power to secure these rights for the next generation.

This is the choice we face in November — electing a governor who will protect our freedoms or one who will dismantle them. If you believe we need a governor who will defend the fundamental right to choose, I hope you’ll pitch in today to support my campaign:

Thank you for raising your voice on this issue, and for your support.
