Dear Friend,

Earlier this year, I witnessed the chilling destruction in Ukraine first-hand: a newborn wing at a maternity clinic burned to the ground, a pediatric hospital made unusable by land mines, and women and elderly people with bullet and shrapnel wounds.

At the hospital we visited, one women really made an impression on me. She was been shot as she walked through the street with her hands up. The bullet went through her arm and side, and then lodged in her sternum. When she was done telling us her story, she wiped away her tears, thanked God and the doctors for her recovery, held my hand in her motherly way, and said proudly in English, "Thank you very much." I wanted to hug her, but given all the equipment, all I could do was squeeze her hand and smile.

The reality of these scenes is painful and upsetting. But we cannot ignore this suffering -- even if the news has moved in the six months since the crisis began. That's why Project HOPE is still on the ground, committed to saving lives and meeting the most urgent needs of children and families.

Can you give today to help Ukraine and people facing health disasters around the world?

Even a small gift can provide so much:

* $60 can provide personal hygiene kits for 3 people
When families are forced to leave with little more than the clothes on their backs, hygiene items like soap, bandages and deodorant help them maintain their health and dignity.

* $120 can provide dignity kits for 8 women
Girls and women fleeing violence with limited access to bathrooms deserve dignity and need menstrual supplies.

* $300 can provide infant kits for 10 newborns
Many refugees from Ukraine are infants and newborns. Diapers, formula, blankets and other supplies keep them safe and healthy.

Though we all had hoped the violence in Ukraine and countries like Ethiopia would have subsided by now, the challenges remain immense. Humanitarian needs continue to grow, but Project HOPE brings more than 60 years of experience in providing lifesaving aid and emergency relief during global health crises.

When lives are on the line, we don't hesitate to help.

Thank you for your time and all your support,
