Hi there,

Late last night, Democrat Pat Ryan won a huge victory against his GOP opponent in NY-19’s special election. This marks another clear proof point that Democratic voters and volunteers are ready and able to help win the midterms this year.

This victory was absolutely not inevitable. The most recent polling showed this R+3 seat going to the GOP candidate by upwards of 8 points. All credit deserved to Congressman-elect Pat Ryan, his campaign team, and the donors, volunteers, and voters—many of you among them!—who showed up and helped secure this major win.

The narrative we’ve heard over and over about the midterms has been “a red wave is coming.” But the truth is, as we get closer to Election Day, we’re seeing the opposite: there’s a strong blue riptide on the ground, in volunteer enthusiasm, and in the results of recent votes across the country. This is the fourth 2022 House special election where Democrats have outperformed Biden’s 2020 numbers. And, crucially, there are 222 House seats up for grabs where Biden performed better than he did in NY-19! We need 218 to hold the House. We have a clear path to victory.

If you’re ready to help keep this momentum going, we have two easy ways you can make a real impact—in less than two minutes:

- [Commit to volunteer a few hours during The Last Weekend before Election Day]([link removed]), November 5–8, the last and best chance we have to turn out midterm voters this year.
- [Make a strategic donation to our National Impact Fund]([link removed]), where 100% of your contribution goes directly to the Democrats running in the most competitive midterm races, up and down the ballot.

Democratic voters and volunteers are showing up to participate in numbers like we saw during 2018, spurred by the Supreme Court’s dangerous decision to reverse Roe and by tremendous legislative victories—on issues ranging from gun violence prevention to climate action to lowering prescription drug costs—secured by President Biden and our Democratic congressional majorities.

In Kansas, voters overwhelmingly rejected an effort to eliminate the abortion rights contained in their state constitution. In the recent MN-01 special election—which should’ve been a blowout for Republicans—the Democratic nominee got within a few percentage points of a victory. And now, the results in NY-19 prove that these were not isolated incidents.

Democrats aren’t agonizing—we’re organizing, mobilizing, and fighting to keep winning in November. And we can’t let up now. Protecting our House majority and expanding the Senate majority isn’t a sure thing. But together, we have a roadmap for success: early fundraising, sustained organizing, and persistent mobilizing—now until Election Day.

2022 has been a difficult year, and we’re working to defeat extremist Republican opponents who are becoming more radicalized, anti-democratic, and completely out of touch with the American electorate by the day.

To stop the radical right, we need to deliver them a resounding defeat in November. And the news of the last few weeks has proven we can do it, together.

We have 76 days until Election Day. Keep talking to your friends and family. Keep donating to competitive candidates. Keep finding ways to get involved locally. Keep hydrated.

We’ve got this. Let’s keep going.

In solidarity,
