I'll be honest, friend.
As a first-time candidate, I'm still getting used to reaching out to individuals for contributions to support my campaign.
I may be new at this, but it doesn't take years in the beltway to know that money has had a corrupting influence in Washington. That's why I decided early on that I’d fundraise for this campaign the right way -- without any cash from corporate PACs or the fossil fuel industry.
I'm also proud to share that our stance has earned us an endorsement from End Citizens United -- the leading grassroots group committed to ending the influence of big-money in Washington.
A lot of so-called “experts” said I was making a mistake rejecting corporate PAC money. But we're saying "no" to corporate checks because if we’re going to fix Washington, we need leaders who won't buckle to special interest pressure. Will that make raising money harder? Sure. But I wouldn’t do it any other way.
Rejecting corporate PAC cash means that the vast majority of our donations come from lots of folks giving what they can (on emails just like this one!). If you’re able, please send in a donation of any amount to our campaign today. [[link removed]]

Don't hold your breath for my Republican opponent to take the same pledge against corporate PAC donations that we did. Esther King is perfectly okay with the status quo in Washington.
The good news that we can put power back into the hands of working people in IL-17, but that only possible with contributions from people like you:
Thanks in advance for your support,
-Eric
