** When people die (and they will), the left will blame climate change and mandate more of the policies that got us here in the first place.

BBC ([link removed]) (8/23/22) reports: "Half of UK households are facing fuel poverty this winter unless the government does more to help with energy bills, EDF has warned. Philippe Commaret, a senior executive at EDF Energy UK, said without further support, people face a 'catastrophic winter.' Energy bills are predicted to be nearly three times higher than last winter. A household is considered to be in fuel poverty if it has to spend 10% or more of its income on energy. From October, all UK households will start receiving payments providing a £400 discount on their fuel bills, with eight million low-income households set to receive an additional £650. But the Liberal Democrats, Labour and most major energy suppliers
are calling for further support for households, including for the energy price cap to be frozen at current levels. The government has said no further measures will be announced before a new prime minister is in place from 5 September."

** "If you plug in two electric vehicles at your house every night - it will be like running two air conditioners/heaters. Ain’t no free lunch except in the minds of those promoting unicorn energy policies."

Don't worry, it's only 5 to 10 bad winters. After that we will be free and clear of those evil fossil fuels and the world will run on fairy dust.

(8/22/22) reports: "The next “5 to 10 winters will be difficult,” Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo warned on Monday as energy prices in Europe soared to new records. 'The development of the situation is very difficult throughout Europe,' De Croo told reporters. 'Some sectors are facing serious difficulties with these high energy prices.' His comments come as European natural gas prices surged to about 15 times the average summer time price and electricity spiked over the threat of further Russian supply cuts. The single biggest risk of the ongoing fallout from the war in Ukraine is the possibility that European solidarity could break down, one Belgian official said, adding such an outcome could undermine energy markets and damage efforts to reach climate neutrality by 2050. Benchmark gas futures rose as much as 21%, while German power surged to above 700 euros ($698.21) a megawatt-hour for the first time as the key Nord Stream gas pipeline is set to stop for three days of
maintenance on Aug. 31, again raising concerns that the link won’t return to service as planned."
You need mining to dominate EVs. So why is Biden making it harder to mine?

Once we run out of bugs, you'll be eating windmill blades.
** The Guardian ([link removed])
(8/23/22) reports: "The next generation of wind turbine blades could be recycled into gummy bears at the end of their service, scientists have said. Researchers at Michigan State University have made a composite resin for the blades by combining glass fibres with a plant-derived polymer and a synthetic one. Once the blades have reached the end of their lifespan the materials can be broken down and recycled to make new products including turbine blades – and chewy sweets. Wind power is one of the dominant forms of renewable energy. However, turbine blades, usually made of fibreglass, can be as long as half a football field and cause problems with disposal, with many discarded in landfills when they reach the end of their use cycle. To combat the waste, researchers designed a new form of resin. Digesting the resin in an alkaline solution produced potassium lactate, which can be purified and made into sweets and sports drinks."
