Hi John, I wanted to send you a note about the state of our race after Democrats won BIG last night in the NY-19 special election. This is a significant victory not just for fellow veteran Pat Ryan who’s now headed to Congress, but for Democrats nationally.
Political pundits are quick to say that we’re in a “Republican red wave” year. Historically, midterm elections are an uphill battle for the party in power.
But last night, as more and more votes were counted, it became clear that Pat Ryan would not only win – he would win by a larger margin than Joe Biden did in 2020.
That doesn’t sound like a “Republican red wave” to me, John.
It’s clear that the national political climate is shifting, and we have a better chance than ever at keeping this seat blue and helping Democrats maintain control of the House after November.
