On August 4, the LGBTQ+ Caucus hosted a Hudson County mixer. Chair Lauren Albrecht and Vice-Chair Joe Forte talked about the importance of queer representation. We’re thankful for a caucus who understands that to make NJ more equitable we need more queer voices at the table!

We celebrated Independence Day on August 14 at the Sanskriti India Festival in Livingston Township. Our Indian American community is one of the fastest growing populations in our state. Happy 75th Independence Day to all who celebrated! |

The South Asian American Caucus hosted a Meet & Greet with Congressman Tom Malinowski on August 18 so the community could have the opportunity to hear from and meet with their elected representatives. The event also featured special guests: NJDSC Vice Chair Peg Schaffer, Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer, Somerset Sheriff Darrin Russo, Somerset Clerk Steve Peter, and Commissioner Deputy Director Melonie Marano. |
On August 22, our Latino Caucus hosted a virtual “Latinas Calling Latinas” phone banking night to help protect abortion access and the right to choose. |
