Hey friend – I’ll be honest with you. I’m a policy nerd.

This probably won’t come as a surprise, but many of my colleagues in Washington care more about being on TV than writing and passing policy that creates positive change for American families.

Frankly, we need more nerds in Congress!

One of my first acts in Congress was writing part of the Dodd-Frank Act that overhauled financial regulations. And this term, I authored a bill that criminalizes insider trading.

I know financial regulations and stock trading don’t exactly grab headlines, but this stuff matters.

Congressmembers shouldn’t profit off confidential information, and banks certainly shouldn’t rely on taxpayer-funded bailouts.

Writing legislation like this can be long and unheralded, but it makes a significant impact.

I’m running for Congress to do the dirty work. Not every bill is going to get me an interview on MSNBC, but that’s not why I’m in Congress.

I’m here to fight for Connecticut’s working families whether my name is in the headlines or not.

I’m a policy nerd, and proud of it. Will you chip in $15 or anything you can to help me win re-election and continue getting the job done for CT-04 in Congress?
