This year, DQC is taking a deep dive into our Show Me the Data
analysis. We’ve taken a closer look at three of the areas that states must improve on their report cards to give families the information they need: Data for Equity ([link removed]) , Making Data Meaningful ([link removed]) , and Postsecondary Pathways ([link removed]) . Each of these resources provides insight for states to improve report cards to better serve students and their families.
Data for Equity ([link removed])
Without disaggregated data and information on other equity-focused indicators, families cannot truly understand how their students are supported in the classroom.

Making Data Meaningful ([link removed])
Report cards remain hard to use and understand, states must prioritize ensuring that families can use their state’s report card to make decisions for their students.
Postsecondary Pathways ([link removed])
States should prioritize collecting and sharing information on all of a student’s postsecondary readiness opportunities and outcomes in ways that help students make the best decisions for their futures.
