As you know, Maine, like everywhere else, is at a tipping point in the climate crisis. In this state, we face high childhood asthma rates. Winter ticks are increasing in the warming climate and are killing moose calves. The fishing industry is struggling as the water off our coast is warming faster than 99% of the ocean. The climate crisis is putting human health, our economy, wildlife, and critical habitat in jeopardy .

Over the last few years, we have seen incredible progress in Maine. Working with Governor Mills and other partners, we helped pass the Climate Action Plan and set policies in place to meet the state’s goals of reducing carbon emissions by 80% and using 100% renewable energy by 2050.
