Biden’s Student Loan “Forgiveness” Plan Is a Raw Deal for Taxpayers - The Biden administration is reportedly set to announce plans to make working and middle-class Americans pay off billions of dollars in student loans for college graduates, a fundamentally unfair and regressive move that will accelerate already historic inflation. The administration will also extend a federal pause on student loan repayments, letting students avoid making even one payment on their loans or accruing new interest. Working and middle-class Americans who chose not to go to college, or who responsibly paid off their student loans, should not be forced to pay off the loans of others. Biden’s loan cancelation scheme robs working Americans in order to pay off the college loans of people who are likely to out-earn them. This radically unfair policy puts special interests and elites ahead of working Americans. Heritage Expert: Lindsey Burke

Congress Must Hold FBI Accountable - At a time when faith in American institutions is at an all-time low, Biden and his allies are making matters worse by pursuing political vendettas against their opponents. For example, the FBI abused the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act process, failed to vet the salacious and spurious Steele Dossier (a document bought and paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign), and pursued a meritless investigation of the Trump campaign for alleged collusion with the Russian government. Whistleblowers recently revealed an FBI analyst posted anti-Trump messages on social media, was instrumental in promoting the false collusion claim, and also tried to discredit and shut down the investigation against Hunter Biden. It’s imperative the next Congress hold the FBI accountable, using the appropriations process to examine the agency’s priorities and personnel. Lawmakers must immediately conduct oversight hearings to uncover the extent to which corruption and political bias are infecting the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies. Twitter whistleblower alleges 'extreme, egregious deficiencies' on cybersecurity issues - The cybersecurity issues are real. We have seen takeovers of accounts of political leaders in the past, and we know that autocratic regimes target dissidents or seek to create chaos from information manipulation. Much of today’s fast action news environment comes straight off of Twitter posts and false tweets from “verified” accounts could cause mass panic. In 2013, the AP handle was hijacked to claim an explosion at the White House which briefly had a direct effect on the Dow Jones. Twitter just had an ex-employee convicted of using his position to spy on Saudi dissidents for Crown Prince MBS. Mudge lodged these complaints way before Elon Musk’s endeavors into purchasing Twitter came about, but it likely could prove a lot of the same rationale and frustrations in the upcoming court case in October. Showering $10 million bonuses on Twitter executives for increasing users over removing spam and inauthentic content is a major red flag that both the court in Delaware, Capitol Hill oversight, and regulators will be seeking more info and rightfully so. Pinocchio legislation -The so-called Inflation Reduction Act is one of the greatest examples of deceptive marketing around today. Not only will the legislation fail to reduce inflation, it will further increase prices. This latest piece of legislation in Washington does nothing to solve the problem. It does not reduce the amount of money in circulation. Worse, it reduces the quantity of goods and services through measures like higher energy taxes and excessive regulation. People underestimate just how much energy affects the price of everything we do and everything we buy. Before an item can be placed on a store shelf, it has to be transported there, whether on a train, a ship, a plane, a truck, or all of these. Heritage Experts: EJ Antoni and Joel Griffith

Florida Christian school says it will refer to students only by biological gender - The Supreme Court has routinely held that religious schools may require students and teachers to adhere to policies and practices that align with the schools’ religious beliefs. Such action by Grace is perfectly in keeping with the religious tenets and beliefs of the school and would ordinarily be unremarkable, save for the fact that American schools have largely been taken over by the trans juggernaut. No doubt any student expelled or removed from school for the prohibited conduct will file a Title IX complaint based on “sex” discrimination. But until Title IX is fully overhauled by the Biden admin, the Supreme Court’s Bostock v. Clayton County decision (holding that “sex discrimination” within employment under Title VII also means discrimination based on transgender status) cannot provide a basis for a sex discrimination complaint.  And, while the Biden admin has offered “informal guidance” that “sex” means “transgender status” under Title IX, a federal judge recently struck that guidance down. This returns the state of affairs on hold, sending it back to Trump-era interpretations until the new Title IX rule (currently underway) is out. Heritage Expert: Sarah Parshall Perry
