Sustainability for Food Businesses

Sustainability for Food Businesses is delivered by a range of senior lecturers from the Food Science and Technology academic team, based in the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences (ARES) at Nottingham Trent University. With a focus on the food and drink sector, the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences will be providing sustainability training to food manufacturers and those working in the wider industry at level 4.
The course is designed to empower learners with the skills and knowledge to improve the sustainability of their business practices, whilst also improving profitability, reducing waste, increasing consumer confidence in their products and increasing market share.

Women in Leadership
Wednesday 14 September from 10am to 4pm
Building on our successful Women in Leadership course for SMEs that has been delivered since 2019, this course is delivered by Nottingham Business School experts.
The course is suitable for women currently working in or towards leadership and management roles and is accredited at Level 7, meaning participants can gain 20 credits towards a postgraduate qualification. To achieve these credits you are required to attend all sessions and successfully complete the assessments (a Personal Development Plan and a report relating to a topic or issue within your organisation).
Whilst the assessments are optional, this is a fundamental element of the programme in which we will support you in demonstrating the application of your learning. Individual feedback is also provided upon completion of your assessment along with optional 1-1 Personal Development Coaching throughout.
Diverse Leadership Development course
B-Global is working in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University to deliver the newly developed Level 7 Diverse Leadership Development course.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course covers a range of diversity and leadership topics beneficial to all growing SMEs, so is for anyone who manages a diverse team and wishes to maximise the benefits of diversity, optimise their own diverse strengths and improve inclusion in their own organisation, specifically:
- Leaders/managers or aspiring leaders/managers
- HR managers, directors, EDI specialists
The course, part funded by the European Social Fund, is run over three full-day, in-person sessions:

Looking to reduce your carbon footprint?
East Midlands Chamber is investing in a total of 400 one-year Zellar sustainability platform licences (worth up to ?600 each).
The platform helps businesses calculate and manage their carbon footprint, measure their performance, and create a decarbonisation plan.
Expansion of Help to Grow: Digital
More small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro businesses can now receive discounts worth up to ?5,000 on approved software under an expansion of the Help to Grow: Digital scheme. The scheme was previously only open to those businesses with more than five employees but businesses with 1 to 249 employees are now eligible.
eCommerce software has also been added to the scheme, helping businesses to sell online and reach new markets. This includes helping them to manage their inventory, take payments and gather data and insights on customers? needs.
Businesses can now access 30 different solutions from 14 leading suppliers of eCommerce, Digital Accounting and CRM software. Additionally, Help to Grow: Digital will support one-to-one advice for SMEs on how best they can adopt digital technology.
