Just hours ago, I officially became the Democratic nominee for Florida's U.S. Senate race.

Not many little Black girls from the segregated South get an opportunity like this, so thank you for putting your unwavering support behind me. You've made all the difference. 

But this fight is far from over. Brand-new polls have me and Marco Rubio TIED – and, with just weeks to go before Election Day, every fundraising goal from now until November is mission critical. But I'm about to fall short tonight – at the worst possible moment. 

I'm running out of time to take the lead, and missing tonight's goal means we risk losing this race and our Democratic Senate majority. So please, friend: Can I count on you to chip in $5 or more to my general election campaign for U.S. Senate right now?
