John,
There’s only one word for hiring, firing, or laying off people based on the color of their skin – and it is “racism”, plain and simple.
But that’s exactly what’s happening in an American school district – and on the taxpayer’s dime.
Minneapolis Public Schools made a deal with a teachers’ union to lay off white teachers before “teachers of color.”
They’ve instructed schools to ignore seniority when downsizing and to get rid of their most experienced professionals if it means keeping a “person of color” on staff.
Yes, you read that right.
They claim their goal is to “remedy of the effects of past discrimination” citing that the most senior teachers in Minneapolis are majority white and people of color were typically the first on the chopping block when layoffs happened.
In other words, their solution to old racism is new racism.
And it doesn’t stop with layoffs either.
In the event of rehiring, they want “teachers of color” given preferential treatment over white teachers – regardless of seniority.
Minneapolis Public Schools claims to want students to have teachers that “look like them” but the truth is, students just need teachers who will educate them.
They need teachers who will teach them math, English, history, the sciences, etc.
But teachers like this are increasingly hard to find as classrooms across the country are going “woke” seeking to indoctrinate kids with identity politics and sexuality at a young age.
Look at our client Jessica Konen whose sixth-grade daughter was targeted by activist teachers and manipulated to believe she was a bisexual boy.
John, there’s no excuse for this.
The classroom should be a safe place for kids to learn and grow.
It shouldn’t be a place where the government undermines all the values taught in the home by moms and dads.
The Center for American Liberty is taking on school districts across the country—from Maine to California—to court to hold them accountable, but we need patriots like you by our side every step of the way.
That’s why I hope I can continue to count on you.
