Friends: Ron DeSantis must think we live in a theocracy. At a rally for Turning Point Action, a conservative dark money group that targets and radicalizes young conservatives, DeSantis monologued about "teaching the truth" and making sure kids know "our rights come from God, not the government"...so much for separation of church and state. Friend, these right-wing extremists cannot be trusted to make laws that protect our most basic freedoms. In any functioning democracy, that would make them unfit to govern, but it's up to us to keep these tyrants out of power. Can you chip in today so we have a chance at beating the GOP in the upcoming midterms and holding our House majority?
The GOP's disrespect for the First Amendment doesn't stop there. For this rally, headlined by DeSantis and JD Vance, Turning Point restricted the press from freely covering the event. Reporters had to give organizers access to any footage of the event and were questioned on how it would be used. For a party that's so obsessed with freedom of speech, they seem pretty unfamiliar with the Bill of Rights. This is what we are up against: The GOP has no baseline respect for our most fundamental freedoms if it doesn't serve their agenda. We cannot give them the theocracy they so desperately want. We have to fight to win this November because if we give them an inch, they will take everything we have. We need the support of grassroots supporters like you, friend, if we’re going to win.
