John, Donald Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is making headlines for all the wrong reasons:

The horrible mismanagement at the USPS doesn’t stop at slashing 50,000 jobs either, John. DeJoy also warned that “uncomfortable” price hikes are coming ahead of the holiday season — starting in October.

Enough is enough. It’s time for DeJoy to go.

Before Trump picked DeJoy as Postmaster General, he was the Deputy Finance Chair of the Republican National Committee — and one of Trump’s major campaign donors.
DeJoy also violated conflicts of interest between the USPS and his family business, which so happens to be a direct competitor of the USPS.
DeJoy’s shady campaign finance dealings made him the subject of an FBI investigation into an alleged campaign finance scheme benefiting Republican candidates.
DeJoy pushed back on the White House and Environmental Protection Agency’s climate action goals to implement electric USPS vehicles and defended his plan to get a new fleet of 160,000 gas-powered mail trucks.
And let us not forget that DeJoy slowed mail and removed ballot drop-off boxes at the peak of the pandemic and the 2020 election.

We need a Postmaster General committed to an improved, more sustainable USPS for generations to come, not one who eliminates jobs, hikes prices, and works as a partisan actor rather than a trusted steward of the Postal Service. And thankfully, we finally have the power to do just that.

The Senate confirmed President Biden's nominees to the USPS Board of Governors, the body with the authority to replace DeJoy. It’s time for them to take action and replace Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General.
