TDI emergency rule to help Weston insurance policyholders living along the coast

The Office of the Governor today announced that a TDI emergency rule will protect Weston Property & Casualty Insurance Company policyholders who live along the Texas coast. The rule removes certain barriers for Weston policyholders to getting wind and hail coverage through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA).

Weston, a Florida insurance company licensed in Texas, was ordered by a Florida court to end its operations. Weston policies will be canceled September 7, 2022.
