John,

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended a prosecutor, Andrew Warren,
earlier this month solely due to his refusal to prosecute women for
abortion crimes.

The prosecutor who replaced him, Susan Lopez, is a NIGHTMARE. She’s ready
to join DeSantis’s efforts and turn back the clock on any progress made in
Tampa.

We expect to see even MORE of these kinds of attacks on our pro-choice DAs
in the coming months, and as a result, more prosecutors who are appointed
in their place who will bring back racist policies that increase mass
incarceration and also prosecute women and abortion providers for personal
health care decisions.

One state we are particularly concerned for is Texas — a state that put a
strict abortion ban in place even before Roe v. Wade was overturned.

That’s why we are working so hard to make sure that we re-elect our bold
pro-civil rights DAs in Texas who will be ready to fight back against
anti-choice leaders. These two DAs, John Creuzot and Joe Gonzales have
strong Republican opponents in November who will criminalize abortions,
and also roll back all of the progress that Joe and John have made.

[ [link removed] ]DeSantis’ actions in Florida showed us what is possible if we don’t
put everything we have into these upcoming races. So PLEASE, can you split
a donation to John, Joe, and Real Justice so we can re-elect these leaders
and continue defending DAs nationwide?

It’s not just reproductive rights that are on the line. Lopez wants to
bring back Tampa’s racist ‘Biking While Black’ policy.

She repealed a policy that was meant to help protect Black bicyclists and
pedestrians from being targeted for certain charges, a policy that Warren
told law enforcement he would not prosecute for.

It shows just how powerful DAs can be, and how they can completely change
how justice is served in their district. That’s why we can’t afford to
throw in the towel for any of our endorsed candidates — especially our
Texas justice champions.

Standing on the sidelines is not an option. There are real lives at stake.
Now is the time for our collective voices to be heard, for to remain
silent is to allow the oppressors, our anti-choice opponents, to win and
roll back all the amazing work that our DAs have put in to not only
protect women, but also end mass incarceration and hold police
accountable.

These elections are in a little more than two months and the recall of
Chesa Boudin in SF showed us that we can’t wait. We need your help RIGHT
NOW combating the inevitable attacks that are on the horizon, so that our
DAs can win re-election and continue fighting for the safety and
well-being of both those seeking and providing abortions.

[ [link removed] ]Can you make a split donation now between TX DA candidates John
Creuzot, Joe Gonzales, and Real Justice to ensure we can fight for these
leaders and more, growing our coalition of pro-choice, justice-minded DAs?

Thank you for your support,

Real Justice
