Dear John,
As our kids head back to school, I know a lot of parents are concerned about our students’ safety this school year. As a mom, I hear you — even though my kids aren’t in school anymore, I am too.
That’s why we have to hold legislators like my opponent accountable when they actively vote against measures to keep our schools and communities safe.
Mike Flood voted against a bipartisan bill — supported by law enforcement — to establish an Amber Alert-like Network for Active Shootings. On his very first day in Washington, he voted against a bill to alert people about active shooters in their vicinity.
In this epidemic of mass shootings, Mike Flood’s vote is outright dangerous. And John, we can do better.
I’m running for Congress because I believe our students and our community need a leader who will fight for them every single day, even when it goes against their party leadership. We need a congresswoman who has the courage to stand up for what’s right, even when she may be standing alone. And we need someone who is ready to deliver change on Day One in D.C.
If you’re ready to elect a candidate who will prioritize the safety of our communities and heed the advice of our law enforcement officials, please chip in whatever you can to my campaign today. We have to make sure our district doesn’t endure another term of reckless votes in Congress:
