Dear MoveOn member,

If you want to understand how tightly Trump has gripped the Republican
Party, look no further than this list:

Rep. Tom Rice
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler
Rep. Liz Cheney
Rep. Peter Meijer
Rep. John Katko
Rep. Fred Upton
Rep. Anthony Gonzalez
Rep. Adam Kinzinger
Rep. Dan Newhouse
Rep. David Valadao

Of the 10 Republicans who had the courage to vote to impeach Trump, only
two remain. The rest have been replaced by election-deniers ready to lead
Trump's next coup attempt in 2024.^1

Then look to the primaries where Trump's army has already won 250
contests, making up two-thirds of the Republican candidates in the six
swing states that are expected to decide the 2024 election.^2

And then note that Trump's support among Republicans is at its highest
level since he left office, peaking in the days after the FBI had to raid
his property to recover stolen classified and top-secret documents.^3

There is only one conclusion. Trump is running for president, and we have
77 days to stop him in his tracks.

That's why MoveOn has committed $30 million to our 2022 midterm
campaign—the largest midterm campaign in our 23-year history. We're using
that money to do what we did in 2020—beat Trump through on-the-ground
organizing, hard-hitting TV ads, cutting-edge digital tactics, and a
sophisticated get-out-the-vote operation.

Trump's march to the White House?

Even the top GOP strategist for Ron DeSantis said: "Trump has an absolute
viselike grip on the Republican electorate, and if he wants to be the
Republican nominee in 2024, he will be."^4

However, while Republicans continue down the dark and dangerous path of
supporting Trump's 2024 coup attempt, recent news is showing that we have
a real shot at defying history and stopping Republicans from taking
control of Congress.

First, President Biden scored the most impressive run of legislative
victories of any president in a decade, passing landmark legislation on
climate change, prescription drugs, gun safety, veterans' health care,
taxing the rich, and more.^5 Meanwhile, gas prices are declining, jobs are
booming, and the rise in inflation—which is being experienced
worldwide—has significantly slowed.^6

In early June, Republicans were on track to win a majority in the Senate.
Now, Democrats have pulled ahead in enough places that they have a better
than a 2-1 chance to hold the majority.^7

And the end of Roe v. Wade is triggering a backlash that saw Kansas beat
back an attack on abortion in the same state that Trump won by 15
points.^8

All of this news is translating to a dramatic shift in Democrats'
prospects in the midterm elections.

And that's before we even start the biggest phases of our campaign, which
won't begin in earnest until after Labor Day.

With your help, MoveOn will be able to invest in ads on TV and digital
platforms driving the most effective messaging to persuade the exact
voters we need to win and fire up Democrats. We're organizing phone banks
and texting campaigns to connect with young voters, Black and brown
voters, and others who are being most impacted by the GOP's voter
suppression laws.

These are tactics we know from testing can have a measurable impact on
election outcomes, but as a grassroots membership organization, we rely on
donations from everyday people like you. Instead of one super-rich
billionaire writing a huge check, we're able to take on Trump and the
Republicans by collecting tens of thousands of donations of $10, $20, and
$50 each.

We have just 77 days left until Election Day. Will you donate
$3 to help stop the Republican takeover of Congress and the
beginning of Trump's 2024 coup?

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump's preparations for being able
to steal the presidency in 2024 are well underway and include working to
replace top election officials in battleground states with his own
loyalists. Which is why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our
23-year history: We're launching a powerful, multimillion-dollar effort to
defeat Trump-backed secretaries of state across the country and elect
individuals who will count every vote and ensure fair elections.

Will you chip in to power our campaign to defeat Trump and protect our
elections in 2022?
