My plan would ensure educational opportunity for every child in this country. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Team,

When I was just a baby, my parents fought very hard to move my family into a neighborhood with good public schools, which in the 1960s were often in all-white neighborhoods.

It was in that town where I grew up and benefited from a world-class education, which set me on a trajectory my parents and grandparents could have only dreamed for me -- first to college, then a Rhodes scholarship, law school, and eventually elected to serve the people of Newark and New Jersey.

Fifty years later, access to a high-quality public education still too often depends on the zip code a child lives in, the color of their skin, and the size of his or her family’s bank account.

I’m fighting to change that. My education plan calls for a high-quality public school in every community and opportunity for every child -- regardless of where they grow up.

I hope you’ll stand with me in advocating for our public schools to have the resources they need. If you want a president who will invest in our children’s futures, add your name here.

Here’s what my public education plan calls for:

  1. Making our school financing system more equitable by dramatically increasing funding for low-income schools.
  2. Giving teachers a raise by passing the RAISE Act, which would provide a refundable tax credit for all public school teachers of up to $10,000.
  3. Investing at least $200 billion in school infrastructure to ensure that all schools are in good condition and able to provide an education that prepares all students for success in the 21st-century economy.

I’m also proposing that we work towards improving the diversity of our educator workforce, expanding access to quality preschool education, and supporting high-quality public charter schools as a strategy to meet the needs of all students.

Sign your name if you agree that it’s time to raise teacher salaries and increase funding for our public schools.

Every American child deserves a great public education.
